Festival " Vilar de Mouros"

Vilar de Mouros Festival is a festival of music, taking place this summer in Vilar de Mouros, Caminha, Portugal. It is also the oldest festival in Portugal and its first edition was in 1971. Only in 1982 was held the second.
On August 8, 1971, at the time of centenary celebrations of IX of Vilar's donation to the Cathedral of Tuy, was a festival of music with a format unthinkable for the season, but there is full freedom of expression among all those who participated in the Festival of Vilar de Mouros in 1971, leading to be considered by national and international criticism as the Woodstock Portuguese.
Among the 30,000 people who attended the festival were many hippies from various points of Europe.
In 1982, is held the second edition of the Festival, maintaining and expanding the role of presenting a wide variety of styles, with national and international holdings in the areas of jazz, rock, blues, fado, folklore and classical music.
